Worms are like the best thing ever. Totally my fav food.
"I will find you, and I will kill you"
Martin was being a hog (heh heh get it?) with his mealworms yesterday. Nom nom.
Hello again guys. Sorry I haven’t posted in pretty much forever. Mom has been really busy with work due to all the snow build up over this eternal winter we had so she hasn’t been able to have us out nearly as much as she’d like to therefore she hasn’t taken pictures of our adorableness and of course I couldn’t post.
Anyway as of about a week and a half ago we got 100 followers! Thanks for that. One thing though…. THIS IS MY BLOG NOT MARTINS AND YET YOU GUYS ARE ONLY EVER LIKING HIS PICTURES. AM I NOT ADORABLE AND AWESOME ENOUGH FOR YOU GUYS??? WHAT’S WITH THIS I THOUGHT YOU GUYS LOVED ME :’( MY FEELS.
Martin and I got baths again yesterday.
mmunstar asked: How do you deal with a grump hedgie? My little pepper is a clicker and it makes my fiance and me sad :c
Ok first of all mom has only had us hedgehogs for a few months so she is by no means an expert.
Anywho she said to always always do your own research in addition to whatever people tell you. Behaviors also vary between each and every hedgehog, no exceptions. It is a good question though. Both Martin and I are typically pretty grumpy whenever we get woken up however she has found good ways to kinda let us know she’s coming and about to wake up up such as
- clicking at us as a warning
- gently moving around the blankets we’re sleeping in
- offering small bits of food like dried mealworms or fruit to make us a little happier about being woken up
- *very* gently petting me (Martin still doesn’t like being pet though so like before it varies from hedgehog to hedgehog)
- making playtime fun or at least not stressful
Also I was super timid when I first moved it so all she did with me for the first month (give or take) was let me investigate the table for a few minutes and when I came over to her she would offer her pocket (ideally a single hoodie pocket) for me to climb/sleep in… It’s a great cozy place and I still love going in it so long as she doesn’t move much :3
Also you need to remember it takes us hogs a while to warm up sometimes so you need to give us time. It also helps to make sure you’re handling us everyday! It does help!!
Hope this helps :3
Mom had both of us boys out a couple days ago.
Martin sayin hello from his ramen box.
Mom found little baby Martin a box to play in while she has him out now (since he broke out of mine he isn’t allowed in it anymore). And before someone screams abuse this was his first time in it and he was checking it out and marking (which should explain all the pee/poo). Mom isn’t the horrible owner some people are trying to make her out to be (yes you know who you are and I’m still pissed about you guys criticizing her >:( )
